Comparing Models of Decision and Action for Guideline-Based Decision Support: a Case-Study Approach (Part 1 of 2) Running head: Comparing guideline decision and action models

چکیده
We compared six computer-interpretable guideline models to understand their commonalities and differences. We sought to identify issues to be resolved if there were to be a consensus on a set of common components, while allowing research groups to continue their research on unique features. The models compared were Asbru, EON, GLIF, GUIDE, PRODIGY, and PROforma. Collaborators from each group that created these models represented, in their own formalism, portions of two guidelines: the American College of Physicians – American Society of Internal Medicine’s guideline for managing chronic cough, and the Sixth Report of the Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure. We compared the guideline models according to eight dimensions. This paper describes our study methodology and compares the models according to four dimensions that capture the structure of guideline models: (1) the organization of guideline plans, (2) representation of goals/intentions, (3) representation of guideline actions, and (4) models of decision-making. A second paper compares the models in terms of their underlying data and concept models as well as their expression languages. Page 3 of 34 pages. Peleg et al., A comparison study of guideline models

Comparing Computer-Interpretable Guideline Models: A Case-Study Approach Running head: Comparing guideline decision and action models
Objectives: Many groups are developing computer-interpretable clinical guidelines (CIGs) for use during clinical encounters. CIGs use “Task-Network Models” for representation but differ in their approaches to addressing particular modeling challenges. We have studied similarities and differences between CIGs in order to identify issues that must be resolved before a consensus on a set of common...
متن کاملApplying a decision support system for accident analysis by using data mining approach: A case study on one of the Iranian manufactures
Uncertain and stochastic states have been always taken into consideration in the fields of risk management and accident, like other fields of industrial engineering, and have made decision making difficult and complicated for managers in corrective action selection and control measure approach. In this research, huge data sets of the accidents of a manufacturing and industrial unit have been st...
متن کاملA Model-Driven Decision Support System for Software Cost Estimation (Case Study: Projects in NASA60 Dataset)
Estimating the costs of software development is one of the most important activities in software project management. Inaccuracies in such estimates may cause irreparable loss. A low estimate of the cost of projects will result in failure on delivery on time and indicates the inefficiency of the software development team. On the other hand, high estimates of resources and costs for a project wil...
متن کاملMultiple attribute decision making with triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers based on zero-sum game approach
For many decision problems with uncertainty, triangular intuitionistic fuzzy number is a useful tool in expressing ill-known quantities. This paper develops a novel decision method based on zero-sum game for multiple attribute decision making problems where the attribute values take the form of triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and the attribute weights are unknown. First, a new value ind...
متن کاملDetermination of Minimum Data Set for Designing a Diagnosis Decision Support System and Medication Follow-Up for Multiple Sclerosis
Background and Purpose: Diagnosis of multiple sclerosis (MS) is complicated because of the lack of definite factor. Decision support systems are expert systems which help physicians in decision-making process. First step in designing the system is identification of a minimum dataset (MDS). This study aimed to determine minimum dataset required to design diagnosis decision support system. Mater...
